Next week marks the start of the annual Pittcon conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. With over 1000 companies exhibiting, this should be quite a show! As we have for many previous years, Alicat will be supporting Pittcon and exhibiting many of our innovative products at booth 708.
New for this year will be Alicat’s Whisper series ultra-low pressure drop mass flow meters and controllers. The whisper series will be available in flow ranges from 0.5 SCCM through 500 SLPM and have better than 2.0PSID with most products falling in at around 0.1PSID. The whisper series will offer full Alicat mass flow functionality to customers that have the most minimal pressure available from their gas sources.
Also new for Alicat is our NEMA 4X offering. The NEMA 4X housing marks Alicat’s first product designed for the rugged industrial market. While Alicat has a Class 1 Div 2 offering, the NEMA 4X allows customers to place Alicat units in environments where water and other potential hazards would otherwise be an issue.
At the booth visitors will be able to see these and most of our other products on display. We will also have a demonstration showing our turndown capability. Our instruments are spec’d to 200:1 and visitors at the booth will be able to see the 200:1 turndown ratio in real time. We will also be showing our unique “bang-a-meter” which demonstrates Alicat’s rugged design and resistance to repeated impact and vibration. Alicat flow and pressure instruments, by virtue of the design, are very resistant to shock and vibration that is commonly found in applications that involve motors, moving parts, or other sources of vibration. We will have several fully functional meters and controllers on display with which visitors can interact with our devices with the intuitive pushbutton controlled display. The fully functional display allows users to monitor flow, pressure, and temperature without the need for bulky add-ons or special software. Furthermore, the pushbutton control gives users a simple way to change process gases, change setpoints, and even change the P & D values to maximize the valve response in accordance with their application needs.
